In production of aggregates like gravel and crushed stone by crushing processes there are up to 20 M. -% crushed sand. Cause of the high amount of finest aggregates and angular particle shapes therefore the crushed sands need higher required water and is hardly used for conventional concrete. However, the existing crushed stone resources can find a new ap-plication by the increasing use and development of self compacting concrete (SCC). It is necessary to clarify the influence of particle shape on the processing properties of the mortar. With the development of new measurement techniques, the particle shape and particle size of the powder can be quantified and analyzed till the nanometer range. The aim is to verify these new methods and to integrate into existing analytical methods to rely on accurate and efficient analysis of data in future.
