Syntheses of biofunctional scaffold architectures for multivalent interactions (A06)

Subject Area Preparatory and Physical Chemistry of Polymers
Organic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term from 2008 to 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 32049920

Project Description

The project contributes to the investigation of facial interactions on multivalent scaffolds for a deeper understanding of multivalency in biological systems. This will result in a knowledge transfer to biophysical and theoretical projects within the collaborative research centre. In the third funding period especially multivalent surface interactions of 2D polymer structures as well as switchable supramolecular scaffolds will be examined more closely. On the one hand, the functionalization of flexible nanogels will be extended to different biologically active ligands. On the other hand the synthesis of 2D polymers based on functionalized graphene derivatives is planned to further increase the multivalent inhibition of pathogen surfaces.
