Project identifier

In this project functional host-guest systems will developed by exploiting multivalent and cooperative effects in combination with photoswitchable non-covalent interactions. Thus light will be used to externally control the supramolecular polymerization of multivalent porphyrin and phthalocyanine building blocks on the one hand and to actively move multivalent constructs over surfaces on the other hand. By multiplying the photoswitchable supramolecular units in multivalent architectures dynamic association and dissociation processes will be amplified to the mesoscopic length scale of the light used.
