Magnetic and electric properties of ultrathin oxide films (B05)

Subject Area Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term from 2008 to 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 31047526

Project Description

In this project the electric and magnetic proximity effects in embedded films with a thickness of a few unit cells only are studied. Material systems are: (1) La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 embedded in SrRuO3, LaNiO3 or SrVO3, (2) ferrites in combination with MgIn2O4 or ZnGa2O4 as well as (3) manganite films grown on exotic substrates with ferroelectric, multiferroic or ferromagnetic order. Magnetotransport measurements are used to investigate conductivity and magnetic order and eventually to localize the conductivity near the interfaces.
