Electronic, geometric, and magnetic properties of multiferroic heterostructures (A07)

Subject Area Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
Term from 2008 to 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 31047526

Project Description

In this period investigations on multiferroic layer systems comprising thin ferroelectrics, quasicrystalline barium titanate films and magnetic oxide substrates are in the focus. Manifestations of the magnetoelectric coupling across the interface are followed by changes of the magnetic structure (magnetic anisotropy) or the ferroelectric structure (domains, ferroelectric emission). Laterally resolving techniques will support the spectroscopic and theoretical methods.
