A global model of redox-dependent biogeochemical cycles (B01)

Subject Area Oceanography
Term from 2008 to 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 27542298

Project Description

A three-dimensional benthic-pelagic model of N, P, C, O, and Fe cycles will be developed further, exploiting information from process studies of other SFB 754 subprojects. Specific attention will be paid to globally relevant non-Redfield processes such as nitrogen fixation and dissolved organic matter dynamics. A novel focus will be the explicit consideration of non-steady state conditions that are of particular relevance for the highly dynamic Peruvian upwelling region and its realistic representation in the high-resolution model developed jointly with A2.
