This proposal relates to a 400 MHz high-resolution NMR spectrometer with equipment for diffusion measurements, also in viscous media and on large molecules. Central research topic of the application are diffusion experiments on macromolecules, in particular the establishment of NMR spectroscopy as a method for the determination of the molecular weight distribution of polymers. In this context, also robust and fast-pulsing diffusion experiments with measurement times of less than one minute are to be developed. The device represents an extension of NMR spectroscopic possibilities at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and enables the research projects outlined in chapter 3.
