The proposed sub-project of the DFG research group 3D-HF-MID focuses on Aerosol Jet Printing (AJP), a contactless and mask-less printing method suitable for producing conductive and dielectric structures. The goal is to transition AJP from a controlled to a regulated printing process using laser transmission measurements to achieve more precise and stable printing results. The main task is to develop an inline measurement system based on laser transmission measurements to characterize and model the process parameters for the production of 3D-HF-MID systems. A dynamic control of the printing process will be implemented to improve the quality and reproducibility of the printing results. The work program includes integrating a stabilized measurement system, researching process models and characterizing signals, designing a model-based control, and evaluating the regulated Aerosol Jet Printing on relevant HF structures.
