Project B08 aims to experimentally study the behavior of magnetic systems brought deep into the nonequilibrium by injecting incoherent magnons. Nonlocal magnon transport together with a complementary magnetooptical measurement will provide broadband access to the temporal evolution of the incoherently excited magnon manifold with a time resolution of few 10 ns. Such measurements of the transient response to spin injection will improve the understanding of open magnetic systems far from equilibrium, which are subject to simultaneous relaxation by radiation and decay into the lattice.
