Conflicts over Property and State Responses to the Internationalization of Chinese Companies in the US and the EU (B08*)

The project compares the impact of state responses of the United States and the EU on the internationalization of Chinese companies. The hypothesis is that state-owned and high-tech companies are particularly affected by these measures, with their business strategies adjusting differently between the EU (“adaptation”) and the US (“decoupling”). Employing a mixed-methods approach, we expand upon the SinoTop500 dataset from the initial funding phase and conduct qualitative case studies of selected companies.
