The goal of this project is the prediction and evaluation of the cyclic performance of components that suffer from forming-induced damage. The previously established, gradient-enhanced framework is extended for this purpose by quasi-brittle behavior at higher numbers of cycles and low temperatures. The close collaboration of axial-torsional experiments and numerical predictions of complex geometries allow to derive key influencing factors for anisotropic damage evolution. Guidelines for damage-mitigating operation will complete the damage assessment of the process chain for case hardening steel and aluminum alloys under mixed and even uncertain load conditions.
