SFB 399:  Molecular pathology of proliferation

Subject Area Medicine
Term from 1996 to 2002
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 5479921

The primary goal of our collaborative research centre is to identify mechanisms that interfere with the cell proliferation in human diseases specifically in cancer cells. The projects are centered on four major topics, which are associated with a disturbed cell proliferation in human diseases: genetic alterations, apoptosis, protein transport and protein folding and viral gene expression. A hallmark of the collaborative research centre is to pursue goals of immediate clinical significance. To this end we analyze expressed antigens and their role as therapeutic targets. The goals of the collaborative research centre are reflected in its structure that comprises departments of basic science as well as clinical departments.
