Enhancing symptom monitoring in early affective disorders: exploring the trajectory from bipolar at-risk to bipolar disorder through intense sampling (A06)

Subject Area Biological Psychiatry
Term since 2024
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 521379614

Project Description

The precise characterization of the risk phase in bipolar disorder is essential for its prognosis and treatment. The project investigates specific precursors of the transition from risk to established illness in a multimodal and longitudinal manner among 150 at-risk individuals. This includes the collection of clinical, neurobiological, and environmental risk parameters (i) at defined time points; (ii) continuously; and (iii) intensified during symptom changes, allowing for the description of the course of risk and resilience factors with unprecedented accuracy.
