Project Details
Thin-walled plates and shells as components for customized slabs (C08*)
Subject Area
Structural Engineering, Building Informatics and Construction Operation
Term
since 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 417002380
The aim of this project is to investigate whether efficient load transfer is also possible with partial bending behavior. The hypothesis is pursued that a modular system of faceted or grid-like sheets of carbon-reinforced concrete members can transfer loads via multiple possible load paths. Developing rib-like assemblies of plane plates and shells, highly efficient in-plane bending is sought in webs and web grids. Investigations will be conducted at long-axis level, cross-sectional level using components and assembled components. Connections including both joints of prefabricated members and intersections of faceted elements and segmented cross sections are investigated. Contact categories will be worked out and will be investigated.
