Social Practices, Differentiation, Diversity (S08*)

Subject Area Prehistory and World Archaeology
Term since 2024
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 290391021

Project Description

S08 will focus on the vertical and horizontal social differentiation and diversity, which shape social relations, and on their role in socio-environmental transformation processes. In order to understand the social conditions and consequences of transformation processes, we need to bring together, analyse and re-evaluate our knowledge on vertical relations of power and wealth inequalities, as well as on the role of horizontal relations like individual and collective identities (such as personhood and gender, kinship and residence groups, allegiance groups and participation).
