Project Description

Project B10 addresses electromagnetic topological excitations. Ways to create and manipulate electromag-netic topological excitations on different physical platforms will be investigated. The observable conse-quences of topology in the various vector fields will be studied and means to propagate electromagnetic topological excitations will be developed. It is planned to reveal optimal conditions for the topological exci-tations in plasmonic systems, graphene-based resonators, photonic crystals, and phase change materials.
