Tissue resident T cells and their functional plasticity in coronavirus infections (C03)

Respiratory viruses have contributed to pandemics and are poised to contribute to future outbreaks. We hypothesize that virus-specific CD4+ T cells provide protection in resolving infections or vaccinations, while those arising during virus-induced cytokine storms may lead to pathological outcomes. Testing this hypothesize we will pave the way to better vaccination strategies and to prevention of immune pathology post-viral infections.
