Final Report Abstract
The project by Frank Bigiel focused on the first spatially resolved star formation law in nearby galaxies using state-of-the art data of the atomic and molecular gas phase in galaxies. These results were then extended by Andreas Schruba by investigating the scale dependence of the star formation law and pushing the star formation law studies to the atomic-dominated interstellar medium by using newly developed stacking techniques.
