The main goal of the present project is to investigate the feasibility of storage-ring-based spectroscopy measurements of atomic parity violation (APV) in highly charged ions (HCI), within the context of the search for new physics. First, we will consider the challenges of such experiments and assess their possible accuracy. Second, we aim to account for prominent nuclear uncertainties which may hinder the new-physics detection in HCI, such as neutron-skin and Bohr-Weisskopf effects. Finally, we will propose and analyze the most viable specific scenarios for APV measurements in HCI which could be performed at storage-ring facilities.
