This project is intended to examine the peculiarities of the German AML system, in particular its compliance with the international FATF standards, its position and role in protecting the international financial system from illegal use, the effects of international, supranational and national AML rules and regulations on the Germany's financial center and the elimination of threats to the integrity of the German financial system, as well as mechanisms for reorganizing the German AML system (formation of concepts, development of draft laws, adoption of laws, implementation) will be examined. After a critical examination of the results found, taking into account comparative studies: - the strengths and weaknesses of the AML system in Germany, best practices and standards of German AML management as well as ways to eliminate corruption risks are determined; - propose to the Ukrainian authorities to take into account the experience and standards of German AML management when designing development strategies of the Ukrainian AML system in accordance with international standards; - taking into account the initiative of the German FATF Presidency to examine the possibilities that the digital transformation of the economy and society brings against money laundering, will seek to solve the legal and information aspects of the problem of improving the effectiveness of detection and investigation systems for money laundering using artificial intelligence. And finally, the results achieved by the project will form the basis for the handbook under the current title “The role of the German AML system in protecting the global financial system” and for the reformulation of my concept for increasing the efficiency of the Ukrainian government.
