This combined experimental and computational project aims to unravel the complex decision-making in mRNA export routes during cellular stress, particularly oxidative stress in human cells. Utilizing advanced RNA labeling, sequencing, and CRISPR-mediated knockdown techniques (Mayer), this study performs a comprehensive systems-level analysis of the parameters of RNA metabolism (Tresch). This project will identify mechanisms related to nuclear export that the cell uses to evade RNA quality control under stress conditions.
