The aim of the project is to investigate the mechanisms within the realkalization of carbonated concrete in order to derive suitable material combinations and the potential of alternative binders on the basis of a prediction model taking into account corrosion-relevant influencing variables. Within the derivation of suitable material combinations, alternative binders are to be included for the first time in order to expand the application possibilities of these more sustainable materials. With the help of the results, it will be possible to estimate the success to be achieved by the use of alternative binders and to make an ecologically sensible decision as a contribution to more sustainable building preservation.
