Aircraft Systems Engineering and Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (A07*)

Subject Area Fluid Mechanics
Term since 2024
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 498601949

Project Description

The project addresses an essential goal of SynTrac, namely the efficient combination of all disciplines involved to enable holistic optimization of the aircraft concepts by exploiting maximum synergy effects of the highly integrated on-board systems. To realize such a holistic Systems Engineering (SE) approach, great attention has to be paid to the parameterization and information processing. The integration of high-fidelity methods, tools and data formats also requires new approaches, such as the integration of AI or dynamically reconfigurable workflows, to efficiently enable the desired multidisciplinary optimization. By addressing these topics, this project will significantly extend the conceptual design work of another project and support the achievement of SynTrac's goals through the SE perspective and the design optimization.
