... Our proposal aims at a comprehensive study, along two magnetotelluric SW-NE profiles, of the conductivity structure of the North German Basin, of its basement as well as of ist margins. These key profiles fill in an important gap in our previous magnetotelluric measuments in northern Germany. They will help to fix the boundary of the deep conductors to the north which will be analyzed in ist relation to the tectonic evolution of the Variscan foreland as well as to the importance of the Lower Elbe line for the genesis of the North German Permian Basin.
