Project Details
PCET-controlled Chemoselective Transformations of Renewable Feedstocks (A06)
Subject Area
Inorganic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Organic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Organic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term
since 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 510228793
As the central project for electrosynthetic protocol development, A06 targets the selective electrochemical conversion of the renewable polysaccharide chitosan into value-added products. PCET-based approaches for C–C bond cleavage via controlled generation of nitrogen radical intermediates rely on the use of molecular PCET mediators and extended solvent strategies. Design of Experiment-based approaches will be utilized for analyzing the large parameter space. Project A06 collaborates with A02/A05 (mediator development), A02/A04/A05 (electrochemical protocol development), C03 (device development), C05 (active anodes), and Ö01 (public outreach).
