Project Description

The PI will trace the transformation of our understanding of DSD over the past 40 years, reconstructing in detail the conflicts, interactions, synergies and dynamics of the negotiations and assignments of meaning. Extensive historical documents from five fields (life sciences, intersex activism, gender studies, jurisprudence, and Christian theology/ethics) will be analysed, and expert interviews will be conducted with relevant actors in these fields.
