In this project we study magnetic excitations - also referred to as magnons - in microstructures. In particular, we utilize non-linear excitations to develop all-magnonic frequency-multiplier devices. To this end, we will employ the recently discovered concept of frequency-comb generation in ferromagnets. First, we aim to optimize the generation of higher-harmonic spin-wave excitations. Subsequently, we will focus on concepts to efficiently couple either the entire frequency comb or individual comb lines into magnonic waveguides in order to utilize them in devices for future spin-based information technology . Throughout this project, we will combine unique features of different optical and electrical techniques to enable, study, and optimize the creation, selection and propagation of the higher-harmonic spin-wave excitations.
