Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU) has been successfully supporting the open access publishing of its scientists for years through a variety of measures. Overall, however, JMU plans to advance the open access transformation of scientific publishing in Würzburg even further. The aim of this project is therefore, among other things, to achieve equal treatment of the various scientific disciplines in the funding of open access publications at JMU by structurally adapting the financial flows. In addition, by establishing new structures or adapting existing ones, the aim is to achieve a largely automated and standardized determination of the volume of publications and the costs incurred in the process, as well as a simplification of the associated administrative workload.
