Hamburg University of Applied Sciences has been committed to Open Access for many years (e.g., REPOSIT Open Access repository, publication fund, DEAL contracts). The project "Open Access Publication Costs 2024-2026" aims to further advance the Open Access transformation at the university. The goal is to optimize existing processes and, in particular, to improve the monitoring of non-central OA payments. Publication and acquisition costs are to be comprehensively combined within an "integrated information budget" to establish cost transparency and achieve optimization of budget allocation. It is also planned to supplement the monitoring of the university's publication volume and to comprehensively map it in the university's own research information system. At the same time, the project also aims to expand the range of Open Access publication opportunities and to further develop supporting services in the area of Open Access and Open Science in general.
