As a non-profit, publicly funded research institution, the Leibniz Institute on Aging - Fritz Lipmann Institute (FLI) wants to contribute to the transformation of the scientific publication process. Central to this is that research results are made freely accessible worldwide in the form of open access publications. For years, the FLI has encouraged its staff to publish results in open access journals wherever possible. However, this is associated with high costs for the authors and the FLI, respectively. On the one hand, the present proposal aims to enable subsiding researchers at the FLI for the high open access publication costs. On the other hand, the costs incurred in connection with open access publications shall be better documented and transparently mapped by refining the documentation procedures implemented at the FLI. Furthermore, a higher amount of information offer at the FLI should further increase the percentage of open access publications.
