In the Open Access Publication Costs programme, Leipzig University is applying for funding to cover additional costs for open access publications in the context of the open access transformation. Parallel to this, the existing workflows and structures for the payment of open access costs at Leipzig University will be further developed and processes for the monitoring of publication costs and publication output will be established during the project. The objective for the requested project duration is to implement a virtual information budget as an intermediate step towards establishing a largely complete real information budget for the Leipzig University. This will involve organisational and conceptual work as well as far-reaching changes to the technical infrastructure for the recording of publication and publication cost data.
