Environmental Life Cycle Assessment of AMC - Determination of Ecological Sustainability Potentials by AMC (C09*)

Subject Area Construction Material Sciences, Chemistry, Building Physics
Term since 2024
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 414265976

Project Description

Environmental impacts of additive manufacturing in construction are quantified and reduced by cross-scale consideration on material, component and structure level. Potentials through material, process, shape, topology and durability optimization as well as functional hybridization will be elaborated. Special focus is placed on the end of the first life cycle and the development of a reliable assessment arising from designing reusable structures, increasing the use phase and recycling. From the comprehensive life cycle assessment, product environmental footprint category rules for the preparation of environmental product declarations of additively manufactured components will be derived, a best practice catalogue will be created and the developed database will be integrated into Fabrication Information Modelling (FIM).
