Project Description

The aim of the research project is to improve the planning of development activities through a deeper understanding of situations in which deviations occur between planned and actual variations of PGE - product generation engineering in sheet metal design. For this purpose, influencing factors in sheet metal design of new product generations that lead to deviations are identified and formally described in an extended model of PGE. Based on the analysis of real data, an ontological model is developed. In addition, variation and planning deviations are collected in the Live-Lab GSD - Generational Sheetmetal Development. These analyses lead to the design of a procedure to reduce variation and planning deviations in sheet metal design. This approach will be refined in a second iteration through an evaluation in a lab study and a live lab.
