Project Details
Spectrometer console for a 500 MHz FT NMR spectrometer
Subject Area
Molecular Chemistry
Term
Funded in 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 530103110
Excellent chemical research requires not only the structural characterization of substances and reaction products, but also the elucidation of the underlying reaction mechanisms. NMR spectroscopy is the tool of choice, as it can provide answers to both questions. At Chemnitz University of Technology, NMR spectrometers are operated by the Institute of Chemistry and the Center for Materials, Architectures and Integration of Nanomembranes (MAIN) as part of an overall concept. To ensure the necessary measurement resources, to establish further methods relevant for modern research and to strengthen the scientific location Chemnitz, a new spectrometer console for a 500 MHz FT-NMR spectrometer including a low-gamma probe, a sample changer and a low-temperature unit will be procured. This strengthens the productivity of the researchers involved, provides significantly improved qualification opportunities for young scientists and increases the ability of the working groups to cooperate. In addition, the third-party funding strength of the Institute of Chemistry and thus of Chemnitz University of Technology can be further improved.
