In the recent years, atom interferometry enabled multiple breakthroughs ranging from fundamental physics tests to the development of new classes of sensors. Among a wide range of geometries, gradiometric configurations promise a boost in sensitivities and application possibilities. Through a strong French- German synergy, AGAPES will develop these original interferometry schemes based on large momentum transfer of matter-waves inside optical resonators. Such novel solutions promise to unfold the potential of atom interferometers for metrological measurements. More particularly, AGAPES will focus on the gravitational wave detection, dark matter searches and tests of the atom neutrality. AGAPES will rely on the recognized experimental and theoretical expertise of the different partners in atom interferometry, quantum metrology and their applications.
