Correlations in antiferromagnets (B03)

Subject Area Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
Term from 2007 to 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 31867626

Project Description

The role of this project within the Transregio is to analyze correlations in antiferromagnets which are tunable by the chemical composition or the magnetic field in order to identify interesting new phases and quantum critical points. In particular, we will consider (i) selected models of frustrated spin systems, (ii) coupled spin clusters, and (iii) the dimensional transition of coupled chain systems, which we believe to be of central interest both in the SFB/TR 49 and in current international research. The theoretical methods will be based on bosonization, spin-wave calculations, strong coupling expansions, numerical Monte Carlo simulations, and general field theory tools.
