The goal of this project is to develop, implement, and use advanced numerical methods for the simulations of ultra-cold gases in connection to other model systems within the SFB and in close collaboration with expriments. The particular algorithms are based on the density matrix renor-malization group and extensions thereof including applications to two-dimensional problems. In the next funding period we intend to use and expand these algorithms in order to tackle: (i) the dynamics of interacting spins, (ii) systems with spin and charge degrees of freedom, and (iii) polarons.
