Project Description

In this proposal, many-particle Bloch equations for the nonlinear interaction of X-rays with semiconductors are developed and evaluated numerically. For this purpose, the parameters for the Bloch equations are calculated from electronic structure calculations and simultaneously coupled with the solutions of the Maxwell equations for experimentally relevant geometries. On this basis, the rapid development in ultra-fast X-ray spectroscopy, which is currently focused on the observation of many-particle and non-equilibrium effects - such as the interaction of core excitons, X-ray luminescence and their amplification by optical excitation - will be addressed.
