Project Details
Tomography of cosmic reionization and large-scale structure of the Universe at redshifts 3 – 8 (C03)
Subject Area

Term
since 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 500700252
Through line intensity mapping (LIM) of the habitats of massive stars in galaxies on Mpc to tens of Mpc scales with FYST/CCAT-prime, it will become possible to constrain the distribution of hydrogen-ionising photons during cosmic reionisation through the clustering of the galaxies that emit them. This will yield a three-dimensional tomographic map of the expected progression of cosmic reionisation with time in different environments in the early universe, when massive stars first formed.
