Project Description

The discussion of important questions about the early universe depends on physics at energies beyond present laboratory bounds and presumably requires a theory beyond the Standard Model. We want to understand better the generation of a baryon asymmetry and the role of "dark matter". In this context we want to work on supersymmetric variants of the electroweak phase transition with singlet particles, on Q-ball production from an AfflekDine phase in Susy models, and on leptogenesis in grand unified models including inflation. The thorough discussion of Susy models includes supergravity and possibly connections with string theory.
