Subject Area
Inorganic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term
from 1995 to 2003
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 5238304
The major goal of this research is to combine the advantages of two popular and well known classes of organosilicon compounds, silsesquioxanes and branched polysilanes in a new class - branched polysilsesquioxanes (or also called 'polysilylsilsesquioxanes'). It is expected that branched polysilsesquioxanes will show interesting photoluminescence, and will be suitable for the preparation of thin films with low- and tunable-e dielectrics, and will thus have the potential for many new applications in optoelectronic devices.
