The aim of this project will be to apply deep-learning based methods to synthetically expedite and enrich MRI data in pediatric brain tumors. Namely, we will use the large volume of available retrospective imaging data collected in the context of the molecular neuropathology 2.0 study (MNP 2.0) coordinated by the Heidelberg University Hospital and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) to: (i) apply an existing framework based on generative adversarial networks (GAN) to create virtual contrast-enhanced MR images from non-enhanced data. (ii) develop a novel deep-learning based method for super-resolution of pediatric brain tumor MRI data, reducing scan times.
