The transfer project deals with the development of an assistance system for the detection of undesired material modifications during surface and profile grinding based on the process signature concept of the SFB/TRR 136. With transfer functions between the essential links in the causal sequence of the grinding process, a thermal process limit is to be defined taking into account possible differences in the heat distribution and the workpiece geometry. The development and testing of a proto-type will take place at the application partner using the previously derived thermal process limit as a basis for the assistance system.
