The running theme of this project is to employ modern methods from symplectic geometry in the context of classical problems in dynamics. We will focus on the three-body problem, a very old conundrum that goes back to Newton, as well as Euclidean and symplectic billiards. The main goals are to investigate the existence of periodic orbits and closed invariant subsets, and positivity of entropy, within the general framework of the study of Hamiltonian dynamics on Liouville domains. We expect these methods and ideas to extend to other problems in mechanics and mathematical physics.
