The confocal Raman microscope will enable for the first time a non-destructive and markerfree, spatially resolved identification of molecules as well as the analysis of interactions and changes due to environmental influences in solid materials such as capsules, granulates, plastics and nanofleeces. It will provide measurement results in a completeness that will raise the experiments to be performed to a new level, making an essential contribution in the ongoing digitization of materials research. The methods used and associated instrument settings will be tracked for use after the project period through quick reference guides, method protocols, or video tutorials. The scientific knowledge gained will also be exploited through patent applications and/or publications. The expected patents and possibly company foundations for new products and processes are in line with the patent and exploitation strategy of Bielefeld UAS. Through the involvement of external users, relationships with research groups at other colleges and universities are actively promoted, with the aim of intensifying and establishing research collaborations and thus forming the basis for joint application. In addition, BifAM will use technology to contribute to research activities in the OWL region, in particular CirQuality, Smart Recycling Factory, Bielefeld Research and Innovation Campus (BRIC), Accelerator OWL as well as MakerSpace, thus strengthening the overall research strategy of the University of Applied Sciences.
