Project Details
Enhancing oxygen and hydrogen surface exchange reactions by Fermi level engineering (B08)
Subject Area
Physical Chemistry of Solids and Surfaces, Material Characterisation
Term
since 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 463184206
Project B08 is concerned with surface O2 and H2 exchange reactions at the perovskite oxide/gas interface with relevance to intermediate temperature energy conversion devices and ion transport membranes. The project initially focuses on oxygen in- and excorporation in dry and humid atmosphere. Surface chemistry and energetics is obtained by electron and infrared spectroscopy while the surface oxygen exchange kinetics is derived in different atmospheres by means of conductivity relaxation measurements. Materials with different electronic structure and doping are received from synthesis projects and the results are compared with other theoretical and experimental projects.
