Project Description

Project A05 is focused on the preparation of mixed anion compounds for the oxygen reduction reaction in electrocatalytic applications. Here, Ba-rich perovskite compounds of the system BaTi1−x−yFexCoyO3− are targeted. These compounds are capable for many anion exchange reactions, which can alter the Fermi energy and charge transition levels in various ways. Concepts of subsequent and simultaneous synthesis strategies for multinary anion compounds such as oxide hydroxide fluorides are considered. The influence of the electronic structure on both, the catalytic properties as well as on strategies for synthesis is analyzed experimentally and theoretically in collaboration with the other projects.
