Siegen University has been committed to the Open Access transformation of the academic publishing system for several years. In accordance with its Open Access Policy, the university supports its scientists and scholars infrastructurally and financially in publishing in green and golden Open Access. The proposal aims to further improve the conditions for publishing at the University. To this end, a sustainable monitoring system for publications and costs is to be established, as is the central allocation of funds by the University Library. At the same time, a framework is to be created for an intensive and sustainable discourse on academic publishing that promotes Open Access awareness among the members of the university and in which questions about the distribution of funds can be discussed with regard to different career levels and subject cultures.
