Stationary phases and dynamic activation in parametrically driven stochastic resonators (C08)

Studying thermally activated transition rates between metastable states is crucial for understanding physics, chemistry, and biology, influenced by nonlinear energy landscapes and stochastic environments. This project investigates activation dynamics between stationary phases of systems under parametric drives, examining how time-dependent drives interact with system nonlinearities. The oscillation responses to the drive create multi-modal quasienergy potential landscapes, facilitating activation transitions akin to those in static systems. We systematically compare activation processes in dynamically modulated systems with static ones to discern differences and similarities. Additionally, we explore the melting of rotating order by stochastic noise and its critical scaling, uncovering novel phenomena not observed in static cases. Beyond fundamental research, we explore potential applications in quantum information processing and analog stochastic annealing for optimization problems.
