For a fully functional NMR spectrometer, hardware performance is inevitably connected to the de-sign and implementation of sophisticated pulse sequence as the “quantum physical software“ of an experiment. Within C01 therefore three fundamental questions at the borderline between hardware and application will be addressed: searching for the physical limits of least rf-amplitude and power-consuming pulses to cover necessary bandwidths, fast pulsing 2D experiments for continuous NMR observation, and tailored pulses and pulse sequences for low-power EPR/DNP.
